Institution Industry Cell

IIC is established in Omega Womens Degree College with a view to impart and create effective Industry-Institute Interface for the students. It is imperative for a Higher Educational institution to have continuous interaction with industry to estimate the requirements of the Institution and prepare the students to the challenges ahead. The cell takes care of planning, coordinating and implementation of activities pertaining to skill development, Implant training, Internships, Industrial visits, Student Projects, Guest lectures. The purpose of the Cell is to find out the gap between Industry needs and student outcomes. To be precise it is the bridge between the industry, the real world and the institute.

Functions

  • The Cell organizes guest lectures, seminars, and workshops by industry professionals to expose students and faculty to current industry practices and emerging trends.
  • IIC facilitates the participation of industry experts in curriculum design, review, and upgradation, ensuring relevance and employability-oriented education.
  • The Cell promotes and supports industry-relevant certification programs in collaboration with recognized organizations to enhance student competencies.
  • The IIC plays a key role in arranging industrial visits and internships to provide experiential learning opportunities and practical exposure to students.
  • The cell with industries coordinate entrepreneurship awareness programs to nurture innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset among students.
  • The Cell establishes and maintains strong relationship with industries and corporate organizations for facilitating campus recruitment drives and placement opportunities for students.
  • The IIC promotes faculty consultancy assignments in collaboration with industry to encourage knowledge transfer and applied research.
  • It encourages and facilitates joint research projects with industry partners, focusing on real-world problems and fostering innovation.
  • The Cell actively supports startup initiatives and incubation activities by providing mentoring, networking opportunities, and linkage with incubation centers and funding agencies.

The IIC Coordinator, in consultation with the Head of the Institution, ensures effective planning, execution, and monitoring of the above activities. Proper documentation and periodic review will be maintained for quality assurance and accreditation purposes.
