B.Sc (MSCs)
Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science
B.Sc (MSCs) is a three-year undergraduate program in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. It brings together mathematical reasoning, data analysis and computing - a combination that is in growing demand across industry and research.
Students learn traditional and modern techniques for solving algebraic, differential and integral equations, and apply probability, statistical models, sampling theory, experimental design, statistical quality control and optimisation techniques to real data. In Computer Science they learn programming languages, databases, operating systems and computer networks, and design software applications that address real-world problems.
Hands-on training and project work prepare students for industry, while presentations and report writing build strong communication skills. Graduates can pursue an M.Sc, MCA or MBA and research, are eligible for government examinations, and can work in IT industries, scientific and research organisations as developers, testers, data scientists and database administrators, or as researchers in mathematics and statistics.
- Prepare graduates to pursue postgraduate study and research.
- Provide domain knowledge for employment in IT industries, scientific and research organisations and allied industries.
- Train students to develop and demonstrate creativity and innovation, with collaborative working skills.
- Gain practical knowledge through hands-on training and project experience to meet industry needs.
- Strengthen arithmetic skills and logical reasoning.
- Communicate scientific data effectively, write reports and design documentation, and make presentations.
